Professor King is thrilled to join XJTLU as Associate Dean for the Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Hub, recognising the unique proposition for seamless collaboration and world-class industry 4.0 5.0 graduates that the XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) represents. Having spent almost two decades developing innovative enterprise initiatives in the UK, Andrews doctoral study was inspired by an early career in as a game developer; recognising the effect of nurturing and passionate, virtual and physical affinity spaces on learning engagement and user satisfaction. Having collaborated with students on nearly 30 commercial projects, ranging from telemetry for a world land speed record attempt (Bloodhound SSC), Virtual Reality design software (Rolls-Royce, CITB, HAE), and numerous serious games projects including a Horizon2020 project which translated player analytics into air-quality policy packages (ClairCity.eu), he is experienced in many modes of technology collaboration, and the effect of immersive virtual and physical learning activities. His work across software and spaces for intrapreneurship recently coalesced under leadership of “Innovative Spaces” for the Institute of Coding in the UK. The resultant Foundry Technology Affinity Space was opened by the UK Universities Minister in 2019 and is now home to seven “Enterprise Studios”, receiving a trade industry award in 2020 for its pivot from physical to virtual space and for how it provided industrial experience to students during the Covid19 pandemic.
