By keeping in step with the latest development and application of microelectronic chip industry and according to real project examples of internet of things of SOC system on chip, this course plans to guide students’ study from class knowledge and theoretical formulas to practical application. The course analyzes in simple terms of the design process of real products, form system modeling to hardware-software partitioning, from algorithm implementation to IP integration, and from project planning to design verification. Based on the teaching and discussion about these topics, this course helps enhance students’ understanding of these knowledge, consolidating class knowledge while guiding them in the search of knowledge application in reality and personal interest, so as to expand their innovative thinking, guide them to apply the knowledge in real cases and to catch sparks of innovation in daily life, let them to have a deeper understanding of IC design, thus laying a solid foundation for their future study and work. |

该课程是针对具有数字电路基础的本科高年级学生,培养和建立学生低功耗设计的基本思想。课程从器件、电路、以及系统层次讨论了现有主要低功耗设计技术的方方面面,介绍了功耗产生的方式和类型,以及互联、片上存储器所带来的功耗控制的挑战。总结了芯片低功耗设计的一般流程以及每个设计节点的主要低功耗控制方法,最后结合流行的嵌入式开发板,建立温度、频率和电压的关系曲线,进一步明确功耗控制的作用和目的,为学生今后从事IC设计建立低功耗的设计思想打下一定基础。 This course is for senior undergraduates with basic knowledge about digit circuit, and aims to cultivate and help students establish a basic awareness of low power designing. From devices, circuits to system layers, the course discusses every aspect of main technologies of current low power design, and introduces the ways and types of power dissipation, and the challenges of power dissipation controlling brought by interconnecting and on-chip memory. The course summarizes the general process of low power design on chips and main low power controlling methods of each design node, as well as the function and purpose of power dissipation controlling by adopting current embedded board to establish the relation curve of temperature, frequency and voltage, helping students lay a foundation for engaging in IC design with low-power dissipation awareness. |

Each module is equipped with detailed course materials such as presentation videos and slides, lab and demo videos, quizzes and classroom activities. Meeting characteristics of the International Weeks, the course focus on guiding students to study fundamental knowledge by themselves and cultivating their practical ability and problem-solving ability. |
