Dreaming Youth, New Voices Blossom. To enrich the campus cultural atmosphere, enhance aesthetic education and ideological and political practice, tell Chinese stories with good voices, and showcase the youthful elegance of contemporary college students, the Artistic Ideological and Political Practice Course of Wuhan Textile University and the Final of the 2024 Host Competition, sponsored by the School Youth League Committee, Party Committee Propaganda Department, and Academic Affairs Office, and hosted by the College of Media, were successfully held in the International Academic Lecture Hall of the Sunshine Campus on December 13th.

After the preliminary and semi-final selection, 14 contestants from various colleges stood out and took to the final stage to showcase their talents. Associate Professor Gong Chao, the chairman of the Language Arts Special Committee of Hubei Province Aesthetic Education Research Association and a master's supervisor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Teacher Ye Jian'en, a host of Hubei Voice from Hubei Broadcasting and Television Group, were among the industry experts and scholars invited to serve as judges of the competition. Representatives from the school's Youth League Committee, Party Committee Propaganda Department, Academic Affairs Office, College of Media, as well as secretaries of the Youth League Committees from various colleges and more than 300 student representatives attended the event to watch the competition.

The final competition consists of two rounds, with the winners of the first round advancing to the next. In the 'I Speak for Youth' prepared speech segment, contestants showcased their skills through various forms such as mock hosting, poetry recitation, and thematic speeches, and also presented wonderful talent performances including classical dance, guitar singing, modern song and dance, and voice dubbing shows, winning rounds of applause from the audience. After fierce competition, 7 contestants successfully advanced to the second round 'I Voice the New Era'. Through random topic drawing for impromptu commentary, they delivered brilliant performances and explanations on topics such as the 'Stone Version' lunar flag of the Textile University, smart wearable 'black technology', the entrepreneurial story of alumnus Wang Jintao, the craze for cultural and creative products, and the hit game 'Black Myth: Wukong', testing the contestants' adaptability and hosting skills, while further stimulating the contestants' and audience's patriotic enthusiasm, love for the school, sense of pride, and pushing the whole competition to a climax.

After professional evaluation by the judges and online voting by the audience, Su Guanbin from the School of Economics and Deng Sheng'ao from the School of Management won the championship. Zeng Yingqian from the School of Materials, Peng Yan from the School of Media, Ye Siying from the School of Mechanical Engineering, Xiong Zhishan from the School of Resources and Environment, and Yan Xinyu from the School of Fashion won the second prize. Liu Yifan from the School of Economics, Xiong Haifan from the Birmingham College, Shen Hengyuan from the School of Chemical Engineering, Liu Dongsheng from the School of Materials, Chen Xinyao from the School of Art, Yang Yingqi from the School of Management, and Xia Yukun from the School of Electrical Engineering won the third prize. Among them, Xiong Zhishan from the School of Resources and Environment won the Best Popularity Award.

Speak up for the era with the voice of youth, and carry the dreams of the era with the self of youth. This art ideological and political practice course and host competition further cultivated an uplifting campus cultural atmosphere, enriched the educational practice connotation of art ideological and political education and aesthetic education, highlighted the spirit of self-improvement and the temperament of managing the world and the earth among the students of the Textile University, as well as the cultural sentiment of cherishing truth and beauty, and the responsibility of youth with me.
