Youth Scientist Project of the National Key R&D Program "Industrial Software Value Chain and Digital Ecosystem Resource System" Launched

The launch and implementation plan demonstration meeting for the Youth Scientist Project of the National Key R&D Program Industrial Software Value Chain and Digital Ecosystem Resource System, led by Yiming Zhao, Professor at the School of Information Management, as the chief scientist, was held on May 16th. Qingsong Ai, Deputy Director of Hubei Provincial Data Bureau, and Wei Lu, Vice President of Wuhan University, attended the meeting and addressed.

The demonstration expert group included the followings:

Lixin Xia, Professor and CPC Secretary of Central China Normal University;

Shikai Jing, Researcher at Beijing Institute of Technology;

Fei Tao, Professor at Beihang University;

Xiao Yang, Chairman of the Intelligent Manufacturing Business Division of HG Tech Co., Ltd.;

Shi Ying, Professor at the School of Computer Science of Wuhan University;

as well as heads of the Research Institute of Science and Technology Development of Wuhan University, heads of the School of Information Management, project leader, and key members of the team.

Qingsong Ai pointed out that industrial software is one of the core industries of the digital economy, hoping that the project will focus on local development needs and drive the construction of the province's digital ecosystem resource system. Wei Lu stated that Wuhan University will strengthen the organizational guarantee for national-level scientific research projects, promote the university's active integration into the national scientific and technological strategy, and expects experts to provide constructive suggestions for the high-quality advancement of the project and help achieve landmark achievements.

Yiming Zhao made a systematic report on the research background and objectives, research content and technical routes, schedule arrangements and organizational management, achievement presentation and testing methods. The participating experts carried out in-depth discussions on the project positioning, research priorities, and implementation plan, and unanimously agreed that the project topic is closely aligned with national strategic needs, focuses on key technical bottlenecks, and the research framework is both systematic and innovative, with broad application prospects. Some experts proposed that in the specific implementation of the project, the coordination between technical routes and industrial needs should be strengthened, and the feasibility and operability of the achievement transformation path should be emphasized to ensure that the research results are truly implemented and take effect.

The Youth Scientist Project of the National Key R&D Program aims to cultivate young scientific research talents who face major national needs and tackle key scientific problems, and accelerate the cultivation of young leading talents in international frontier fields. As the first Youth Scientist Project of the National Key R&D Program approved for the interdisciplinary fields of humanities and social sciences at Wuhan University, its implementation is of special significance for the university to promote interdisciplinary integration of liberal arts, engineering, and sciences. It also marks an important step for the university in interdisciplinary scientific research innovation and the construction of young scientific research echelons.
