On the afternoon of May 16th, Yuhong Zhu, Marketing Director of Greater China Region at Elsevier, a renowned international academic and scientific information service provider, and her delegation visited our school to conduct research and exchange on topics such as AI for education, AI for science, AI for librarian. Ruhua Huang, Deputy Director of Wuhan University Library, Xiaoguang Wang, Dean of our school, Lihong Zhou, Associate Dean of our school, attended the meeting. Jie Xu, Director of the Department of Publishing Science of our school and Associate Dean of the Wuhan University Publishing Research Institute, presided over the meeting.

Xiaoguang Wang extended a sincere welcome to Yuhong Zhu and her delegation. He introduced the general information of the school and pointed out that the cooperation between Wuhan University and Elsevier should be viewed from the perspective of serving global innovation and knowledge discovery, to explore more extensive and forward-looking possible spaces and specific implementation plans. The school will conduct in-depth discussions with Elsevier on academic services, talent cultivation, technological innovation and other issues, build a new type of cooperation platform, and produce high-level results.

Yuhong Zhu introduced Elsevier's brand strategy transformation, especially the latest R&D scientific research tools and academic publishing products based on AI technology, and put forward the vertical field scientific research service concept of "from telescope to microscope and then to stethoscope". She pointed out that the School of Information Management of Wuhan University has a long history of running a school and deep disciplinary heritage, and has global influence in the fields of library science and publishing science. She hopes to carry out in-depth cooperation with the school in talent cultivation, social services, scientific research transformation and other aspects in the future, so as to jointly promote the high-quality development and digital-intelligent transformation of science and technology, education and talent undertakings.

Our school and Elsevier have a deep friendship and cooperation tradition. In 2015, YoungSuk Chi, Chairman of Elsevier, visited Wuhan University and gave an academic report at the Luojia Forum. In 2018, teachers and students of our school were invited to pay a return visit to Elsevier's London headquarters and carried out special consultations on the international development of disciplines and specialties. In 2024, YoungSuk Chi made a video report at the 7th International Symposium on the Development of Publishing Industry and Talent Cultivation in the Digital-Intelligent Era held by our school. The visit of Yuhong Zhu and her delegation this time represents the further deepening of cooperation between the two sides. The two sides will promote the innovation of academic service models through approaches such as resource intercommunication and technical joint research, so as to provide higher-value solutions for the global scientific research community.
