To deepen the industry-university-research-application cooperation between intelligent education and publishing industry, on the afternoon of May 15th, Fangzheng Tan, CPC Deputy Secretary and Editor-in-Chief of Higher Education Press Co., Ltd. (HEP), led a delegation to visit Wuhan University for research. Wei Lu, Vice President of Wuhan University, attended the meeting, which was chaired by Jun Tao, CPC Secretary of the School of Information Management, Wuhan University.

Wei Lu reviewed the cooperation history between Wuhan University and HEP. He noted that the two sides have a solid foundation for cooperation. In 2014, the two sides jointly established the Research Center for Educational Publishing, setting a fine example of industry-university-research-application integration in talent cultivation, academic research, and industry services. Looking ahead, under the trend of integrated development of education, technology, and talent, he expressed the expectation that both parties will be guided by industry needs, actively adapt to the wave of digital transformation in publishing, further deepen cooperation in various fields, and produce more high-quality achievements that serve talent cultivation in higher education and promote the progress of the publishing industry.
Fangzheng Tan pointed out that as a national team and main force in the field of educational publishing, HEP has always adhered to educating people with the CPC's innovative theories, actively promoted the deep integration of artificial intelligence and high-quality education development, accelerated the pace of cultural globalization, and fully led the modernization direction of China's educational publishing to support the construction of China's educational modernization. In the new situation of intelligent education, HEP will take the initiative to respond to the era's proposition of "What should publishing and education do in the intelligent era," and join hands with Wuhan University to explore new paths for cultivating publishing talents in the intelligent era, smooth the entire chain of talent cultivation, and build a new comprehensive, multi-dimensional cooperation system.
Xiaoguang Wang, Dean of the School of Information Management, and Jie Xu, Director of the Department of Publishing Science, respectively introduced the construction of the School of Information Management and the publishing discipline. The two sides also had in-depth exchanges on issues such as intelligent textbook publishing, application of artificial intelligence technology, internationalization of educational publishing, and construction of English scientific journal clusters.

Wuhan University has a solid cooperation foundation with HEP. In November 2014, the two sides jointly established the Research Center for Educational Publishing, which, as the first high-end research platform focusing on educational publishing in China, relies on HEP's practical resources and Wuhan University's scientific research advantages in the publishing discipline to produce a number of landmark achievements in textbook R&D, digital publishing, educational policy research, and other fields. In April 2025, the Wuhan University — Higher Education Press Internship Base was officially established, opening a new chapter in the cooperation between the two sides in talent cultivation and practical innovation.
