From October 22 to 25, Xu Bu, chairman of Institute for Global Development and Security of Jiangsu University paid a visit to Indonesia, where he met Senior Fellow of the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSlS), Indonesia, Jusuf Wanandi, and President of Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI) and former ambassador of Indonesia to the United States Dino Patti Djalal, visited Huawei headquarter in Indonesia and the Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway China Railway Office, and talked with the leaders respectively. During his stay, he had a conversation with Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Wang Lutongand Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to ASEAN Hou Yanqi, with whom he held a media and think tank salon with the theme of “China-ASEAN Cooperation: Together for a Golden Era”.

Xu Bu interpreted the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and China’s foreign policy on its neighborhood. He expressed that Chinese modernization will bring great opportunities to all countries including the ASEAN members. Facing the complex and volatile international and regional situation, all parties concerned should focus on development and cooperation, adhere to multilateralism, oppose bloc confrontation and unilateralism, and jointly safeguard the peaceful development for all.
