School of Foreign Languages successfully held the 2024 National Outstanding University Student Summer Camp on July 6. After a rigorous process of student registration, material review, and qualification assessment, a total of 20 students were selected to participate. The summer camp was hosted by Ms. Yu Shasha from the School of Foreign Languages. Professor Li Chongyue, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, Professor Su Jianhong, Vice Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, Professor Feng Ruizhen, Director of the MTI Education Center, outstanding master's graduate Zhu Lei, and some faculty members from the school were also in attendance.
Professor Li Chongyue first extended a warm welcome to all the outstanding camp participants and then briefly introduced the school's history, discipline overview, program introductions, faculty strength, talent cultivation, and other aspects in the morning. He welcomed all campers to apply to the School of Foreign Languages, Jiangsu University.
Professor Su Jianhong took the three keywords "learn, think, and act" as the main thread and engaged in exchanges and discussions from five dimensions: "levels of talent cultivation, cultivation of transferable skills, academic research, value (ideal) versus price (reality), and the creation of meaning (negation of negation)."
20 outstanding campers first provided a feast for the senses for every participant present through self-introductions, readings, and amusing dubbings in English, Japanese, and German in the afternoon. This session not only added a splash of bright color to the summer camp but also left unforgettable memories for the campers on their growth journey.
Professor Feng Ruizhen subsequently shared her daily life with her master's students, allowing the campers present to deeply appreciate the true meaning of "being both a teacher and a friend." She also repeatedly encouraged all campers to actively apply to Jiangsu University and join the warm family of the School of Foreign Languages.
Afterwards, student Zhu Lei shared his gains and suggestions from four aspects: studying, living, participating in activities, and postgraduate entrance exam experiences, helping fellow students better understand the academic and research atmosphere of the School of Foreign Languages.
This event provided an excellent platform for outstanding students to exchange ideas and learn, further attracting more outstanding students to apply for graduate studies at School of Foreign Languagesl.
