After the competition, Wang Xiang and Sima Lingyun provided feedback and suggestions. Wang Xiang emphasized the importance of student-centered approaches, urging participants to consider students’ learning contexts and their zones of proximal development when designing classroom transitions and teaching activities. Sima Lingyun advised normal students to continue practicing penmanship and chalk writing and to focus on cultivating students’ cognitive skills in their lesson designs. The competition combined contestants’ National Teacher Qualification Exam scores, penmanship and chalk writing scores, and simulated teaching performance to determine the winners: one Grand Prize, three First Prizes, five Second Prizes, and ten Third Prizes. The Grand Prize winner will be recommended to participate in the Jiangsu Province Basic Teaching Skills Competition for Normal Students.
This competition provided a valuable platform for English normal students to showcase and enhance their skills, highlighting the importance of integrating theoretical learning with teaching practice in normal students’ education. The school plans to further strengthen collaboration with primary and secondary schools to advance the quality of normal students’ training.
