On May 9th, Professor Liu Honggang from Soochow University was invited to give an academic lecture on "Exploring Topics in Foreign Language Education Research: Strategies and Cases" for our faculty and students. The lecture was chaired by Li Xia, Vice Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, and some teachers, graduate students, and undergraduate students from the school attended the lecture.
Professor Liu Honggang, based on his own research topic selection experience, focused on the study of psychological resilience of foreign language teachers. Through case analysis, he gave a wonderful sharing on how to choose good topics in foreign language education research. In the interactive session, teachers and students asked questions about topic selection and their own doubts in the research process. Liu Honggang patiently answered and provided constructive suggestions, which provided useful inspiration for the academic exploration of the teachers and students present.
Li Xia emphasized that studying without teaching is empty, and teaching without studying is shallow. She encouraged teachers and students to constantly reflect on teaching practice, pay attention to the combination of theory and practice, and promote the organic integration of teaching and research.
This lecture is an important part of our academic exchange series, aiming to broaden the academic horizons and enhance the academic literacy of our faculty and students, and further promote the in-depth development of our scientific research.
