On March 20th , the first graduation ceremony for the micro-major "Russian Intercultural Communication" at the School of Foreign Languages was held in Room J2302. 13 outstanding students successfully finished all the courses of the micro-major, passed the assessments, and were awarded the "Russian Intercultural Communication" micro-major certificate by Jiangsu University.
At the graduation ceremony, micro-major graduates reflected on their experiences and insights gained from learning Russian, discussed their plans for future studies and work using their communicative skills in Russian, and shared a poetry recitation performance of Pushkin's poems with Russian international students.
Vice Director Gao Ling, Head of the European Languages Department at School of Foreign Languages, awarded graduation certificates to the students and offered words of encouragement. She urged the graduates to continue studying and reflecting on Russian in their future academic pursuits and lives, to maintain a critical attitude towards foreign cultures, and to apply their intercultural communication skills flexibly in their future careers and daily lives. Teachers Zhu Xiaoyan and Guo Lin reviewed and summarized the teaching activities of the micro-major and expressed their congratulations and best wishes to the graduates of this year.
The micro-major "Russian Intercultural Communication" was established in May 2022 and started recruiting students in September of that year, garnering strong attention and support from the college leadership. Currently, the micro-major has enrolled two cohorts, with the 2022 batch of students having successfully graduated. This micro-major is open to students from all majors within the university, aiming to cultivate compound international talents who possess both professional skills and foreign language proficiency, as well as a sense of national identity and international understanding.
