The National Environmentally Friendly Science and Technology Competition (NEFSTC)

The National Environmentally Friendly Science and Technology Competition (NEFSTC) is a top-level contest in the field of environment for students in universities nationwide. It is co-organized by Tsinghua University, Tongji University, Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology and the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, and supported by Research Institute for Environmental Innovation (Suzhou) of Tsinghua, Tsinghua's x-lab, Dalian University of Technology, Fudan University, East China Normal University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Jilin University, Nankai University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tianjin University, Xiamen University, Yan'an University, Zhejiang University, University of Science and Technology of China, Zhongshan University, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), Xinjiang University and Tibet University. Aiming to promote resource conservation and environmental friendliness, it encourages university students to participate in the construction of a resource-conserving and environmentally friendly society with their innovative technological insights, inventions and entrepreneurial practices, and guides them, especially those who study in environment-related majors, to carry out scientific and technological innovation in the field of environmental protection.

The NEFSTC has been held for sixteen times since its first session in 2006. Over the past 18 years, the competition has grown into an incubator of innovative talent. In the future, it will still be dedicated to providing a platform for the students to innovate in the field of environmental protection, and promoting the meaning of resource conservation and environmental friendliness. As an academic platform where technological insights and inventions sprout, it will also incubate innovative and entrepreneurial projects in the environmental field.
