The curtain has recently fallen on this year’s Tsinghua University opera festival, with Executive Deputy Secretary of the CPC Tsinghua University Committee Xiang Botao attending the closing ceremony.
Over the course of a month, the festival featured an impressive lineup of performances in diverse and rich Chinese operas with 21 distinct styles represented, including Peking, Kunqu, Pingju, Huangmei and Qinqiang operas.
Tsinghua’s opera festival has become a popular cultural initiative since its inception in 2017. Utilizing premier venues like the New Tsinghua Xuetang and Mong Man Wai Concert Hall, the university has hosted 95 high-caliber performances featuring renowned artists, classic productions and acclaimed troupes, showcasing nearly 30 different opera styles.
