Inaugural Meeting (First Plenary Committee Meeting) of Industrial Engineering Teaching Guidance Committee for Higher Education Charged by Ministry of Education Was Held at Chongqing University

　　The First Plenary Committee Meeting (i.e. Inaugural Meeting) of 2013-2017 Industrial Engineering Teaching Guidance Committee for Higher Education charged by Ministry of Education (hereinafter referred to as Industrial Engineering Teaching Guidance Committee, IETGC for short), was held at Chongqing University on September 6, 2013. Attended the meeting were leaders from Secretary for Higher Education charged by Ministry of Education, chairman of IETGC and professor of CoME Qi Ershi, Secretary General of IETGC Wang Yuan, all members of IETGC, vice Chancellor and other leaders of Chongqing University, publishing industry representatives such as Higher Education Press and China Machine Press, and representative teachers from relevant majors.

　　Leaders from Secretary for Higher Education awarded appointment certificates to each member of the Committee. And an important speech was delivered, emphasizing the significance of establishing Higher Education Guidance Committee charged by the Ministry of Education, clarifying the key point of current work, and proposing some hopes for IETGC’s future work.

　　Committee members devotedly studied the speech by Du Yubo, deputy Party secretary and deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education, which was made at the inaugural meeting of “2013-2017 Ministry of Education Higher Education Guidance Committee” on May 30, 2013, so as to accurately grasp the reform and development trend of higher education, and to effectively enhance the sense of responsibility and urgency concerning intensive development in higher education. The meeting was also aimed at accurately grasping the main tasks of Higher Education Guidance Committee, effectively mastering the breakthrough point and focus of serving Industrial Engineering undergraduate teaching, clarifying its functions and responsibilities in order to effectively improve scientific level of the Committee’s work.

　　Based on the requirements of the Ministry of Education, the 2013-2017 five-year plan and annual work plan were carefully studied and developed during the meeting. Director Qi Ershi requested that functional departments established during the meeting should carry out their respective tasks promptly, work out detailed work plans, and complete various tasks in accordance with the progress required by Ministry of Education.
