Dr. Liu is an Associate Professor at School of Architecture, Tianjin University, and the former director of Digital Green Building Design department at Shanghai Research Institute of Building Science (SRIBS) from 2012 to 2016. He received his Ph.D. degree in Architecture from Illinois Institute of Technology, US in 2012, and has nearly twenty years of work experience in green building industry. He is not only actively involved in design practice, but also dedicates to academic research in recent years. His research interests focus on the technologies of energy efficient green buildings, especially in the realm of energy self-sufficient solar building, ultralow energy building envelopes and innovative facades. Currently he has received more than 10 patents in China on green building technologies, as well as the Prize for Technical Excellence in solar building design, and has published many articles on energy efficiency and solar building technologies from the perspective of a professional architect.
