Zhang Qing is an Associate Professor of Architecture at the School of Architecture, Tianjin University. He is also a first-class registered architect, senior engineer of architectural design specialty, and a member of the China Architectural Society. He had been engaged in architectural design for more than a decade before moving on to architectural education and thus has extensive architectural design experience. Testament to this are the national and provincial awards his architectural design works have won in China.
As an educator his focus is on cultivating the students' interest in architecture specialty, by ensuring that the architectural design course homework is always according to the requirements of real design projects, thus laying a good foundation for students to join the professional world after graduation. He is incredibly interested in green building and teaches students the design concept and method of green building. His students have won prizes in UIA International Student Competition.
