Research Theme: Traditional Military Settlements, Coastal Defense System in the Ming Dynasty
Tan Lifeng is a doctoral supervisor in the School of Architecture of Tianjin University, a registered architect at the national level, a member of the Great Wall Society of China, an academic member of the Professional Committee of the Chinese Ethnic Architecture Research Association for Residential Architecture, and a visiting scholar at the Academia Sinica and Chung Yuan University in Taiwan. He was awarded the Second Prize of Huaxia Architecture Science and Technology (5/12), the Second Prize of Tianjin Social Science Excellent Achievement (3/5), and the Excellent Teaching Project of Architectural Design in National Higher Education Institution (1/4). Currently, his main research interests: Ming Dynasty Traditional Military Settlement, Ming Dynasty coastal defence system, and traditional village heritage. He presided 5 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Housing and Construction Research Fund, and the Doctoral Program Fund of the Ministry of Education. He participated in more than 10 Social Science Major projects of the Ministry of Education, National Science and Technology Support Program, National Natural Science Foundation of China, etc. He has published more than 40 papers with first or corresponding authors, including 5 SCI papers and 4 monographs.
