1 In July 2022, the School of Architecture completed the transition of the administrative leadership. The new leadership group will continue to explore, innovate and lead the faculty and students to the next level of achievement.

2 In the 2022 QS World University Rankings by Subjects, Tianjin University ranks 37th in Architecture/Built Environment and placed the 3rd among universities in China Mainland.

3 On December 24^th 2022, the 110th anniversary of Mr. XU Zhong's birth, the exhibition "PENG Yigang - The Creative Practise of Outstanding Contemporary Architects, Theorists and Educators" and educational seminar was held in order to carry on the merit of respecting the deceased masters and to sharpen the future shape of architecture.

4 The "Innovation and Practice of Architectural Talent Training Models Based on the Wisdom of the  Chinese Construction System" project won the Superior Award of the 2022 Higher Education (Undergraduate) Achievement of Tianjin Municipality. Moreover, the “HN-CDIO Training Model "project and the "Architecture Typology textbook and curriculum" project won Special Awards of the Graduate Teaching Achievement of Tianjin Municipality. The three projects have applied for the National Teaching Achievement Award.

5 The student teams of the School of Architecture won the gold medal in the 8th China International “Internet +” University Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and became the first team from Tianjin University who has won Gold Award in the undergraduate track of this Competition. Students from T-Arch also won a second prize and a third prize in the seventeen “Challenge Cup”- National University Student Extra-curricular Academic Science and Technology Competition and 1 National Gold Award and 2 Provincial Gold Awards in the ninth “Create Youth” Chinese Youth Innovation Competition.

6 In 2022, students from the School of Architecture have constantly won over 115 awards in various competitions and contests, among which Team Tianjin U+, led by School of Architecture won the first prize of the 3rd Solar Decathlon China (SDC 2022) and took 8 first places and 1 second place out of the 10 sub-contests.

7 The School established the Institute for Architecture and Urban Sciences of Tianjin University. With the goal of nurturing high-level talents and facilitating important projects and achievements, 20 research teams were formed to focus on the frontier of architectural and urban scientific innovation and to advance interdisciplinary cooperation.

9 In August 2022, the "Engineering Technology Innovation Center for Spatial Planning and Governance in Land-Ocean Key Belt Region, Ministry of Natural Resources", as one of the six Key Engineering Centers in the field of spatial planning and development, was established. The "Tianjin Key Laboratory of Healthy Habitat and Smart Technology " and the "Tianjin University Architectural History and Heritage Conservation Science Base" were also established in this year. In addition, the “Institute of Urban Renewal and Development, Tianjin University” has been selected as a Source Think Tank for the China Think Tank Index (CTTI).

10 In 2022, the School of Architecture received a total loan of CNY 35,998,500 from the Ministry of Education, including CNY 33,028,700 for the “Construction of Key Disciplines”, CNY 2,850,000 for the “Excellent Talents”, and CNY 119,800 for “Faculty Development”. The budget is mainly used to purchase teaching and research equipment, which provides critical technical support for the development of the School of Architecture.
