Curling, known as “chess on ice”,is a complex sport that combines both mental and physical strength. The Tianjin University curling team has been established and started recruitment since April 2021. Within less than a year, this team is now competing with more than 20 players, including both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Among them include students from the School of Architecture who are key players on the University curling team, pictured in the back row (first, second, third and fourth from the left): Liu Keyan, Liu Huiran, Zhang Shaojia and Wang Shiyuan. Thanks to the well-equipped venue and professional instructors provided by Tianjin University and Tianjin University Curling Alliance, in 2021, the curling team of Tianjin University competed in the National College Curling League and won the fourth place.
“On the one hand, as college students, we have the opportunity to participate in such an amazing sport. In the process of exercising, we can sharpen our own skills, develop personal growth, and learn the spirit of curling. On the other hand, as athletes, we have certain responsibilities and obligations to promote and popularize curling to wider audiences”.
