On December 8th, 2018, the founding ceremony and conference of Architectural Education Academic Council of Tianjin University was held at the School of Architecture of Tianjin University. The Academic Council consists of our renowned alumni and partners in architecture and urban planning industry, research, management and promotion in China. The council members include: Peng Yigang (academician of China Academy of Science, professor of School of Architecture, Tianjin University); Cui Kai (academician of China Academy of Engineering, chief architect of China Architectural Design Institute); Zhou Kai (national design master, founder and head of Hua Hui Architectural Design Company); Duan Jin (professor of School of Architecture, Southeast University); Qin Li (professor of School of Architecture, Shenzhen University); Huang Wenliang (chief designer of Hua Hui Urban Design Company); Lu Hong (deputy director of Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Land Resources and Planning); Huang Jingtao (chief planner of Tianjin Urban Planning Institute); Peng Lixiao (head of the UED magazine).

The board members and the head of each department attended the conference. The discussion was focused on the past, today and future of the education and research. The council members discussed about the major tasks in the first four-year term of the Council, which are how to cope with the national and international development of the architectural related disciplines, and how to promote the reform and development of the educational and research systems of school through the integration of teaching, research and practice.
