Prof. Yanchao Shi from the School of Civil Engineering at Tianjin University chaired the lecture and introduced the guest speaker. In this lecture, Prof. Jie Han introduced the recent applications of lightweight foam concrete (LCC) in geotechnical engineering. The content included but was not limited to: (1) Introduction to the performance design and quality control/assurance of LCC; (2) Demonstration of laboratory and on-site evaluations of LCC performance, and discussion on a field monitoring project using LCC for mechanically stabilized earth walls. After the presentation, Prof. Jie Han and the attending faculty and students engaged in a lively discussion on relevant issues. Prof. Yanchao Shi presented a certificate to Prof. Jie Han and took a group photo for commemoration.
