Bio

Dr. Zhang obtained his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, supervised by Prof. Zongjin Li. His research interests include: (1) Failure Mechanism of Concrete Materials and Structures in Marine Environment; (2) Molecular Dynamics Simulation of Structure and Properties of C-S-H under Aggressive Ions; (3) Mechanism of Cement Hydration Microstructure Evolution of Mineral Admixtures; (4) Nondestructive Monitoring System of Reinforced Concrete Structure Based on Field Change Response and Information Entropy Theory; (5) Preparation and Characterization of the New Cement-based Piezoelectric Sensor and Its Application in Structural Health Monitoring. Dr. Zhang has published 39 SCI academic papers. He is the guest associate editor of Frontiers in Materials and also the reviewer of multiple international SCI academic journals, including Cement and Concrete Composites, Construction and Building Materials, Smart Materials and Structures, Applied Acoustics etc.
