He acquired several undergraduate and graduate degrees in Philosophy and International Relations before completing a PhD in Political Theory at Harvard University in 2016. At Harvard he wrote a dissertation on the 19th century British philosopher, John Stuart Mill, and taught several courses on ethics, political philosophy, and the philosophy of social science. He was subsequently a Research Associate of Philosophy at Sun Yat-sen University (Zhuhai campus) before moving to Shenzhen University in 2019. At Shenzhen he has taught two courses on the History of Western Civilization, and plans to open new courses on international relations (for journalism students) and philosophy (for literature students). He has recently published articles on John Stuart Mill’s moral and political philosophy, and Quentin Skinner’s philosophy of intellectual history, in British Journal for the History of Philosophy, Dialogue: Canadian Philosophical Review, Prolegomena: Journal of Philosophy, and Philosophical Investigations.
