奖学金介绍Introduction to the Scholarships
1.奖学金类别和覆盖范围 Scholarship Categories and Coverage
(1) A类奖学金包括学费和生活费。
Type A Scholarship covers tuition and living allowance.
本科生Undergraduate：1100元人民币/月 (yuan/month)
硕士研究生Master's：1400元/月 (yuan/month)
博士研究生Doctoral：1700元/月 (yuan/month)
(2) B类奖学金包括学费。
Type B Scholarship covers tuition.
(3) A类和B类都不包括申请费500元和住宿费。
Both Type A and Type B does not cover the application fee 500 yuan/year and the accommodation fee.
2.奖学金的申请资格 Eligibility for Scholarships
(1)非中国公民（中国出生移民国外学生请参考中国教育部相关规定），身心健康
Non-Chinese citizens (for immigrant students born in China, please refer to the relevant regulations of China Ministry of Education) and be in good health both mentally and physically
(2)关于年龄和上一级学位，原则上：
申请攻读学士学位者，年龄不超过25周岁，须具有高中学历；
申请攻读硕士学位者，年龄不超过35周岁，须具有学士学位；
申请攻读博士学位者，年龄不超过40周岁，须具有硕士学位；
With regard to age and previous degree, in principle:
Applicants for Bachelor's Degree must not be more than 25 years old and must have a high school diploma;
Applicants for master's degree should not be older than 35 years old and must have a bachelor's degree;
Applicants for doctoral degree should not be older than 40 years old and must have a master's degree;
拟于2025年毕业的申请者，申请时提交所在学校出具正式的预毕业证明，在西南大学报到时出具学位证原件。
Applicants who intend to graduate in 2025 will submit an official pre-graduation certificate issued by their institute at the time of application, and an original degree certificate when they report at SWU.
(3)最低成绩要求：
GPA为3.0（满分4.0）及以上。
分数是80分（满分100分）及以上。
Minimum Grade Requirement:
GPA is 3.0 out of 4.0 and above.
Score is 80 out of 100 and above.
(4)尚未得到中国其他奖学金的资助。
Not yet sponsored by any other scholarships in China.
3.语言能力的要求 Language Proficiency Requirement
(1) 申请人必须提供上一级学位用何种语言教学的证明。若无，请提供HSK、TOEFL-ibt、IELTS等语言水平证书，以证明其语言能力符合日常和学术的要求。
Applicants must provide proof of the language in which the previous level of degree was taught. If not, please provide a language proficiency certificate such as HSK, TOEFL-ibt, IELTS, etc. to demonstrate that the language proficiency meets the daily and academic requirements.
(2) 汉语授课专业汉语水平最低要求：
本科HSK 4 级200分以上；
硕士HSK 5 级190分以上；
博士HSK 5 级200分以上。
Minimum Chinese language proficiency requirement for Chinese-taught programs:
Undergraduate HSK Level 4 with a score of 200 or above;
Master's HSK 5 with a score of 190 or above.
Doctoral HSK Level 5 with a score of 200 or above. 3.
(3) 英文授课专业英语语水平最低要求：
本科、硕士雅思 6.0以上或者托福iBT 80以上；
博士雅思 6.5以上或者托福iBT 85以上。
Minimum English language proficiency requirement for English-taught programs:
IELTS 6.0 or above or TOEFL iBT 80 or above for undergraduate and master's students;
IELTS 6.5 or above or TOEFL iBT 85 or above for Doctoral students.
4. 奖学金期限和年度评估 Scholarship Duration & Annual Assessment
一般来说，奖学金获得者可根据其学习期限获得以下奖学金：本科生学制4年，研究生学制3年（仅有国际中文教育专业学位硕士专业为2年），博士生学制4年。
Generally, scholarship holders are eligible for the following scholarships according to their study duration: 4 years for Undergraduate Program, 2-3 years for Graduate Program (Only the Master of International Chinese Language Education is 2 years), 4 years for Ph.D. Program.
根据相关规定，每年5月对奖学金获得者上一学年的表现进行综合评估，以确定奖学金获得者是否有资格继续获得奖学金。
According to relevant regulations, there is a comprehensive assessment of the scholarship holder's performance during the previous academic year to determine whether the scholarship holder is qualified to continue receiving the scholarship in each month of May.
关于导师接收函 About Acceptance Letter from SWU Supervisor
申请本奖学金不需要西南大学导师的接收函（我们仅视其为推荐信），但可以帮助你脱颖而出。
但是，我们鼓励优秀（一般GPA3.8/4.0以上，或有重要发表成果，或在上一级学校获得荣誉学位）的硕士和博士申请者在网页翻译软件的帮助下访问各学院（部/中心/实验室/所）网页，了解西南大学各学科发展和各导师信息，寻求导师指导修改研究计划、获得导师推荐。

A letter of acceptance from your potential supervisor at SWU is NOT required to apply for this scholarship and will only be considered as a recommendation, yet it can help you stand out.
However, we encourage outstanding (generally GPA 3.8/4.0 or above, or with a significant publication or an honours degree from previous institute) master's and doctoral applicants to visit the web pages of each college (faculty/center/laboratory/institute) with the help of web page translation software, to learn about the development of each discipline and information about each supervisor of SWU, to seek guidance from the supervisors to modify the research plan, and to obtain supervisors' recommendations.

首选新丝路奖学金的原因 Reasons to Prefer New Silk Road Scholarships
校长奖学金不由申请者申请，而是2025年9月由西南大学在已报到的新丝路奖学金生中遴选产生；
校长奖学金名额很有限，本硕博、一等二等分别只有2个名额，共12个名额；
校长奖学金仅额外提供800元/年的保险费。
The President's Scholarships are not applied for by the applicants, but are selected in September 2025 by SWU from among the reported New Silk Road Scholarship students;
The number of President's Scholarships is very limited, with only 2 places for undergraduate, master's, and doctoral Type A and Type B respectively, i.e. for a total of 12 places;
The President's Scholarship provides an additional 800 yuan/year for insurance.
