Dan Ge led students in the 10th Cross-Strait Interpreting Competition (Southwest China Final)

On October 20, Dan Ge, a faculty member in the Department of Translation, guided and accompanied student Xu Runqi to participate in the 10th Cross-Strait Interpreting Competition (Southwest China Final) at the Hongwen Complex of Sichuan University of Foreign Studies, Chongqing. Although Xu narrowly missed the third prize by one point, the experience proved invaluable, offering significant insights and lessons. Xu later penned a detailed reflection on the competition, underscoring the importance of disciplinary contests in enhancing students’ learning and skills.

The Cross-Strait Interpreting Competition, hosted by Xiamen University, is a prestigious biennial event that brings together outstanding interpreters from both Taiwan and mainland China. Under the mentorship of Dan Ge, the department has consistently performed well in past competitions, even earning the Grand Prize in previous editions.
