Highlights: Department of German Students Win Second Prize at the 4th Southwest Regional German Style Competition


On November 30, the 4th German Style Competition in Southwest China (Der dritte Wettbewerb für Deutschlernende in Südwestchina) took place at Mianyang Teachers’ College. Associate Professor He Jun from the Department of German-led a team of undergraduates from the Class of 2021, including Liu Xueyao, Teng Jingzhu, and Fan Yuxuan, to participate in the event.





      The competition included segments such as prepared speeches, impromptu speeches, video dubbing, and guessing games. The team demonstrated exceptional composure, showcasing their German language skills and teamwork throughout the event. Their efforts earned them the Second Prize, while their instructor, Associate Professor He Jun, received the “Excellent Instructor Award.”

This achievement highlights the academic excellence of the Department of German, which is part of China’s national first-class professional development initiative. Both the students and their instructor expressed that the competition was a valuable learning experience, fostering meaningful exchanges with peers from other institutions. They also noted that the insights gained would contribute significantly to advancing the department’s professional development and teaching standards.
