Abstract:
“Fundamentals of materials science” is a professional basic course for the undergraduates who study on materials processing engineering. Its related process experiments are an effective way to cultivate the students’ engineeringpractical and technologicalinnovative abilities.Among these experiments, too many steps the long periods of time, and the limited instruments have restricted the largescale teaching and learning for workhardening experiment. It is difficult to achieve standard training and assessment for many students. With the rising of the number of the students, it has become one of the bottlenecks of undergraduate experimental teaching in material processing engineering.By means of the virtual simulation of the workhardening process and its microscopic mechanism, the experimental teaching that could not be completed in the traditional classroom can be achieved, which compensates the deficiency of the physical teaching, strengthens the students' understanding and mastery on the basic concepts, and achieves the purpose of cultivating the students' engineeringpractical and technologicalinnovative abilities.
