Abstract:
Marxist critical theory carried out a persistent criticism and reference of various schools of semiotics led by structural semiotics. Its criticism and reference expressed themselves mainly in Marxist primary theoretical diachronic dimension’s overthrow and removal of synchronic methodology of structural semiotics. Meanwhile, with the help of some means and concepts of structural semiotics and other semiotic schools, Marxism diachronically analyzed and criticized literary and cultural phenomena in historical social context. “Marxist semiotics” shaped through criticism and reference of semiotics became an important branch of Marxist critical theory, which discriminated and combed out differences in semiotic practice, critics’ spiritual altitude, and complicated relationships between objects of criticism. All this helped a great deal to extend the horizon of study of Marxist critical theory.
