Abstract:
To clarify those elements affecting farmer workers’ consumption is of great importance to expanding domestic demand and enhancing the farmer worker’s conversion to the citizen. According to the data from 1,860 samples to investigate the status quo of consumption of farmer workers from the 28 provinces and regions across the Country, farmer workers’ consumption is bound by three conditions, economic, social and personal. Farmer workers’ wages as an primary economic condition affect their current expense. The system of compulsory children education, the system of housing insurance and the system of medicine insurance as social binding conditions add to uncertainty of their expected expenditure and preventive deposits. Moreover, their jobs, marriages and mode of integrate family immigration, which make the characteristics of farmer workers as “the thirdelement” consumers different from either citizens or farmers, all these sociological features help to stimulate their demand for consumption. To promote farmer workers’ ability of consumption, government should raise the level of income of farmer workers as a whole, energetically establish and perfect the system of public service including farmer workers and introduce some new mechanisms to the existing householdidentity-d of consumption.
