Tang poetry contained great numbers lines eulogizing working females of lower classes, especially those descriptions of dressing and makingup, which made up for the lack of recording female dressing and existing state in folk society of the Tang Dynasty. Even in the prosperous reign of the dynasty, folk women had to face a hard life, which was revealed from their way of dressing and makingup. Their dressing and makingup showed great difference from those of noble women, casting a striking contrast between them in state of existence.
