Abstract:
The Vassal of Qin was the head of vassals in the Ming Dyansty. In October of the 16th year of the imperial title of Chongzhen, the troops led by Li Zicheng seized Xi’an and captured the last king of Qin, indicating the end of the Vassals of Qin. For the genealogy of kings of Qin, various historical records headed by the History of the Ming Dynasty all regarded Zhu Cunshu as the last king of Qin just after Zhu Yihuan. However, according to the unearthed epitaphs of Zhu Cunshu and Zhu Cunji and Shaanxi Annals, Zhu Cunshu was not crowned Vassal of Qin but only the prince of Qin. Therefore, the genealogy of kings of Qin after Longqing ought to be King of Jing Zhu Jingrong, King of Jing Zhu Yi, King of Su Zhu Yihuan, and King of Jing Zhu Cunji. So the real last King of Qin was Zhu Cunji.
