Abstract:
The ideological construct of Feng Menglong’s “emotional teaching” as a conception of teaching had a direct target with its special context. For Feng Menglong, “emotion comes with life,” and “emotion is the basis of reasoning”. Only by taking “emotion as basis”, treating carefully people by incorporating “emotion” with “reasoning” can humanistic consolation to salvage be realized. In terms of the course of cognitive development of the relationship between “emotion” and “reasoning” from the PreQin to the Late Ming days, the ideological construct of Feng’s “emotional teaching” helped recover the succession of the spirit of “emotion”based culture, which had broken for quite some time, and correct the view of practicing the ethics of “reasoning being the model for emotion”, and marked a trace of incorporation between “emotion” and “reasoning” in the situation of a new age.
