现代化进程中媒体对现代人格的塑造职能

摘要:
实现现代化是包括中国在内的许多发展中国家的共同愿望。人的现代化是现代化实现的前提和根本途径,它处于主体地位,具有终极取向的性质。现代人的主要特征可以概括为:民主参与性、高度时效感、独立自主性和创新开放意识等,并体现为现代的人格。大众媒体具有的“塑型”功能,使其在现代人格的倡导和塑造上能够通过典型人物报道等方式对现代人的心态、情感、行为等人格结构发生重要影响。重新审视媒体在人格和人物报道中的价值取向和现实表现,在我国现代化进程中具有纠偏补正、修整重塑的重要作用。

Shaping Function of Mass Media to Modern Personality in the Course of Modernization

Abstract:
Modernization of men is the prerequisite and basic means to realize modernization. As the subject of modernization, it is of the nature of ultimate orientation. The leading characteristics of modernized men include democratic participation, a high sense of temporal efficiency, self-reliance, innovative and open consciousness, which constitute a modernistic personality. For men modernizing, mass media are capable of acting as the “shaper”. By reporting the model personalities, they can exercise important effects on such component elements of modern men as mood, emotion, conduct and whatever so as to advocate and shape a modernistic personality of men. A reexamination of the ideological orientation and realistic performance of mass media in reporting personality and the personality is of great importance to correcting the wrong and compensating for the lost.
