Abstract:
Tremendous accomplishments have been made in studies of Chinese dialectical vocabulary. Nevertheless, such studies need to be deepened in the following ways: 1) A more systematic description of dialectical vocabulary is in need; 2) Discriminative studies of dialectical words and studies of isoglossic words deserve more concern; 3) Close attention is to be paid to studies of specific categories of words and devices of semantic expression; 4) Borrowed words in dialects and the process of dialectical words permeating into standard vocabulary call for more concern.
