Chinese Teachers in Ecclesiastical Universities and Construction of Disciplines in Modern Universities in China

Abstract:
In the early days Department of Sociology, Yanjing University, was mainly staffed with American teachers and the objectives of training, programs of courses and textbooks were thickly characteristic of the West. And a teaching faculty with Chinese teachers as the mainstay had not taken shape till some 1926. These Chinese teachers worked hard to develop Chinese theory of sociology, train Chinese sociological workers and serve development of Chinese society. They made great contributions to the Chinesization of sociology and valuable experience to the construction of college disciplines.
