Abstract:
Qin politics were greatly influenced by the thoughts of Han Fei. This article argues that the influence of Han Fei’s thought on the art of the Qin Terracotta Warriors and Horses is mainly reflected in three aspects: the influence of Han Fei’s “potential” on the magnificent momentum of the Qin Terracotta Warriors and Horses, the influence of the “quality” thought of Han Fei on the realistic style of the Qin Terracotta Army, and the influences of Han Fei ’s thought of “severe punishment and heavy penalty” on the sevenity and indifference displayed on the Qin Terracotta Army complexion. The creation of Qin terracotta art was done solely for political purposes; it was meant to illustrate the extreme monopoly of power by the First Emperor of China.
