Abstract:
Modern China is an era of Western learning and Eastern learning. It is also the first time for Chinese people to look back on their spiritual homeland in an allround way. For the latter, the revival of the neoscholasticism and the rise of the thought of Sinology are clear evidence. With the revival of reaConfucianism, the modern philosophers all showed great interest in the preQin ear and preQin philosophy, and Kang Youwei was no exception. What is different is that Kang Youwei’s exploration of preQin philosophy is based on the relationship between Buddhism and preQin philosophy. He presents his cognition and evaluation of preQin philosophy by distinguishing the similarities and differences between the preQin scholars and Buddhist thought. This makes Kang Youwei’s preQin philosophy research not only centered on the study of Confucius in all schools, but also gradually distancing himself from other modern philosophers.
