Abstract:
Qiu Chuji, a top leader of Taoism in 12nd-13rd century, was summoned by Genghis Khan at the court in the Central Asia in Qiu’s later years. That's a striking subject in the Mongolia studies. This paper, based on the historical records such as Journey to the West, narrates the process of founding the Quanzhen Denomination by Qiu chuji, analyzes the complexity of his psychological mind during the hard and long journey to the west, explores the essence and purpose of his lectures and conversations with the Emperor Khan. The paper discovers the main directions and trunk roads of the Silk Road during the Yuan Dynasty, and claims that Beijing was the starting and end point of the Silk Road then. The author reveals the similarities and differences of the culture and society between the east and west in the Mongolian-uan period. Furtherly, the paper gives the true meaning and insights about the story of “one word to stop slaughter”.
