Abstract:
Chen Duxiu and Li Dazhao etc. were pioneers of modern education in China, who are represented as the early Marxists in China. Before and after the founding of the Communist Party of China, they not only found the socialist orientation to develop China's education in Marxist doctrine, but proposed socialist educational ideals, including their main supporting contents, which are about striving for the right to education of the broad masses of workers and peasants, asserting educational equality, actualizing societal forms based on the principle of everyone's free and comprehensive development and emphasizing the combination of educating and laboring, to identify everyone with the masses, in order to be real Marxists. Of course, early Marxists viewed education as a means to save the nation from subjugation, strengthen the country and enrich the people. Meanwhile, their educational ideals could not be separated from their era, personal limitations and traces of Russian influence.
