The Sixtysix volumes of A Collection of Kongtong in Wenyuan Ge Si Ku Quan Shu is a collected works of Li Mengyang who was a famous writer in the Ming Dynasty.It was originally based on Deng Yunxiao & Pan Zhiheng’s collated and blockprinted edition of Wanli thirty to thirtyone years in the Ming Dynasty. Though it is very good, for political reasons, Si Ku feudal official members had revised the words such as “Hu”(胡),“Lu”(虏),“Yi”(夷),“Di”(狄), etc.Through the research of collation, four types of change had been found many times, which were a change of characters, change of sentences, deletion of characters or sentences and addition of characters or sentences. However, some of them had been reserved without change. Besides, a careful collation work has been carried out by the edition of the Ming Dynasty. Therefore, in the use of Si ku Quan Shu we should be cautious of the writing character as well as the literature value correctly and objectively.
