Abstract:
Although Egypt’s medical and health care had made a lot of progress during the Mubarak era, it suffered some bottlenecks, such as the uneven distribution of medical and health care resources, low efficiency, low medical insurance utilization, the obvious problem of youth health care, and the unpleasant situation of women’s health care, etc. The plight was caused by three factors. Firstly, the excessive population restricted the progress of medical and health care in this era. Secondly, the Mubarak government’s policy on medical and health care had some defects in its toplevel design. Thirdly, Egypt’s medical and health care was also affected by the economy, traditional culture and education. The plight that Egypt’s medical and health care had suffered during this era reflected the defects of the Mubarak regime in prompting the process of modernization.
