Abstract:
The French novelist Patrick Modiano always create with respect to the themes like “memory”, “lost”, “identity”, “pursue”, etc. Sorrow and loneliness always suffuse his novels, in which the perception and image of a certain time are narrated. It may be under the framework of memory construction that Modiano’s works could be considered as a form of “pursuing the elapsed time”. While seeking the spiritual ego, Modiano’s novels mirror Proust. It is why Modiano is named as “Today’s Proust” by the Nobel Committee.
