Abstract:
The statement of teaching philosophy is not only the core of college teachers’ scholarship of teaching, but is also essential to creating and maintaining a campus culture supportive of teaching. The statement of teaching philosophy may be expressed in a statement of beliefs that reflect a value system, a policy statement, a list of objectives and how they are achieved, a teaching essay, or as other art forms. Since the statement of teaching philosophy is basically an individual expression, there is no required content or set formulation for delivery. According to this, this article suggests the following seven dimensions about the statement of teaching philosophy: integration of responsibilities, expertise, relationships, learning environment, values imparted, methods, strategies, innovations and outcomes.
