Abstract:
In the traditional mainstream orientation, the perception that there is a binary, external parallel relationship between theory and practice has obscured the true form of the relationship and made the relationship into one of multiple logical difficulties. The cause of this traditional orientation lies in that it is wrongly believed that the relatively independent relationship between a specialized production form of theory and practice that after the division of mental labour and physical labour remains the relationship between theory itself and practice. In Marx’s view, theory and practice are internally mutual, and with the formation and disappearance of the division of mental labour and physical labour, this relationship shows a historic character. In this internal mutual relationship, theory is internal to practice because theory is the internal portion of practice, the contents of theory are contained in the contents of practice, theory is formed in practice, practice is the manifestation of theory and other aspects; practice is internal to theory because the contents of practice are reflected in the contents of theory, practice is within the limits of theory and so on. This internal mutual relationship shows that theory and practice are not only of themselves but also do belong to each other, and thus present an organic whole. This new interpretation of Marx revealed the true form of their relationship, contained a new logic to understand their relationship, and indicated the infinite possibilities of their sound development.
