Abstract:
The problemoriented discipline construction of Sinology will make our ideas change and urgrade our academic approaches, which not only gets rid of the shackles of discipline construction, promotes the course into the era of no discipline or postdiscipline, but also upgrades the research methods from the current prevailing double evidence to quadruple evidence, and even holographic evidence. Academic management and degreegranting can supply subject categories while the depth of the academic discussion can have no specific discipline barrier. If any, it might be caused by the subconscious disturbance resulted from the mental segments of the public administration upon academic researches. Today’s Guoxue should be the study of “the world”, and its significnace and value lie in integration, crossdormain and interdisciplinary work. The contemporary value of developing Sinology, in a way, ensures that Sinology will be “China Studies”, the excessive meticulous subject classification in degreegranting will be corrected, the interdisciplinary integration will be fulfilled to break down the academic discipline barrier caused by modern discipline classification, thus forming China’s metadisciplinary research situation. It is proposed that the maximum doctorate degree in humanities should be changed to Degree of Guoxue, i.e., GuoXue D.
