In the period of the AntiJapanese War, the current national banks and bureaus, in response to the boost of KMT government, actively promoted business of agricultural loans. They set up branches and laid out coops and cobanks, establishing a provinceover network of agricultural banking and shaping an agricultural loan system based on national banks and bureaus. Those national banks and bureaus, by offering varieties of agricultural loans, injected large quantities of national agricultural funds in Shaanxi countryside, which played an active role in increasing wartime agricultural production in Shaanxi, raising the farmers’ income, improving productive conditions and blowing usurious loans in the countryside.
