In his On the New Citizen, Liang Qichao introduced a theory of power. Associating his theory of power with his view of individuals, it is clearly seen that Liang held a view of individuals advocating power, abbreviated as the view of strength individuals. According to liang’s view of strength individuals, a powerful individual would be a strongbuild, energeticminded and excellentcapable modern individual, an individual of strength. Liang’s view of strength individuals showed the tendency of subverting the traditional philosophic dispute between effort and fate and between violence and peace and revealed the transformation from view of moral individuals to view of strength individuals in modern times.
