Yun Daiying’s thought of culture represented his theoretical perceptions about cultural issues formed in his attempt of combining Marxism with the reality of Chinese culture. His definition of cultural concepts, interpretation of cultural implications and attitude to dealing with the relationships between different cultures all demonstrated that his cultural thought was part of the neodemocratic cultural theory. Yun’s cultural thought made special contributions to the transformation and development of Chinese culture in modern times and provides precious ideological resources and inspiration for the current construction of Chinacharacteristic socialist culture.
