Abstract:
One of the leading writers of realistic literature in the new period of China, Lu Yao always persisted in writing for the people, regarding literary writing as a kind of unsmart labor. He firmly followed his own path of realistic writing and adhered resolutely to his attitude of concerning Chinese problems and aesthetic pursuit by going deep into life, and keeping a foothold on land. Writing for the bottom was Lu’s peculiar perspective of realistic writing, and most of his works revealed the history of distress and struggle of people at the bottom of society, expressing a different spiritual orientation of the underclasses from that in many other literary texts. His persistence in realistic writing, an underpaint of his literary writing, gained enormous success. In the course of development of Chinese contemporary literature, Lu’s realistic writing was in line with Liu Qing’s literary writing, hence the precious value and significance of his literary writing.
