Abstract:
The Upanis·ads takes an important place in Indian philosophy, and many later Indianphilosophic systems were closely associated with its theory. The leading thoughts introduced by the philosophic authors of the Upanis·ads for analyzing the origin and generation of things included the theory of golden eggs, the theory of elements and the theory of Sanskrit, which played great roles in shaping several influential philosophic schools and religious sects in Indian history. For example, the theory of golden eggs had influence both on Vaisesika and Buddhism, the element theories of Lokayata, Veisesika, Nyaya, Jainism and theory of Brahmantman directly on the mainstream philosophic school in the history of Indian ideology. In a word, the thinggenerating theory in the Upanishads played a significant part in the construction of basic ideological system of the later school of Indian philosophy.
